Well, here we are Home Sweet Home - man am I glad that I don't have to be on a leash anymore - that was annoying. Everything is pretty much back to "normal" here at home with the exception that Jack has gone to live with a new family. He'll be happy there with two young children to play with but I know I'm gonna miss him BOL!!!
Well we've been home two weeks now and I spent the first week flat on my back with a virus - most appropriate since I started the trip sick, spent most of the trip not feeling well, and capped it off with a virus coming home! Now may the rest of the summer be all good and healthy!
As promised, here's a recap for our 2009 Sojourn.
Dick drove 6,653 miles in the RV and I put another 3,780 miles on the car. It took us 68 days to visit 41 cities in 23 states plus the District of Columbia.
We spent $2,317.77 on lodging, $1,957.46 on diesel for the motorhome, $284.41 on fuel for the car, and $1,171.74 eating all those delicious meals out. We spent $370.25 on entry fees to all of those amazing places we visited and $3,552.27 on repairs to the RV.
We made lots of new friends, had a great time touring our great country, made a decision to spend winters in Tucson (but not until 2010), and enjoyed it so much that we traded in our single slide 1997 American Eagle for a quadruple slide 2004 Beaver coach (click for pics).
We're already planning our first trip in the new home - spending a week in July in McCall, Idaho with our friends Ted & Julie - to work out any bugs it might have.
We hope you enjoyed our journey; we enjoyed having you along.
Happy Trails .... Dick, Jo & Harley
