6/16 We enjoyed breakfast with cousin Julie, Norm, and Jane at the local Denny's. Julie took the girls shopping and Uncle Norm took me to the local barber shop. This marks the 2nd time I have had my hair cut in this barber shop, and only the 2nd haircut I have paid for in years (I usually get up and run out of the barber shop – actually Erika cuts it at home)
We departed Fullerton and made our way towards the Rancho Bernardo Inn – http://www.ranchobernardoinn.com This great destination is managed by our friend John Gates. It is a beautiful facility and Aspen has declared it “the best hotel we have ever stayed in”. This statement was made even before we walked in our room. I am sure the folks that manage the EconoLodge in Tulsa would be disappointed. We relaxed, enjoyed a walk around the grounds, sat on our deck overlooking the 10th tee, and took a family swim after securing dinner from a near by Rubio's. 24 hours in California and I have satisfied my In-and-Out Burger and Rubio’s Fish Tacos cravings.
Some general observations and comments: The girls have made it their goal to swim in all the hotel pools and to hit the 7 hot tubs on the facility. This is a beautiful place with many fountains and the view of the golf course is great. Erika enjoys listening to the frogs croaking at night near the pond across the 10th fairway.
