Seeing the USA in our Chevrolet travel blog

Jenny's reaction when she sees Gordon for the first time...PRICELESS!!!

.

Yesterday afternoon and evening’s thunderstorms were followed by wonderful conditions today in the Spokane area. Afternoon temperatures were in the upper 70’s, a slight breeze stirred the fresh air all day and fluffy fair weather clouds floated overhead in the bright blue sky. We couldn’t have had a better day to meet our new “travel friend” (a cyber friend no more!!) Jenny J and her significant other R.E.K.

We were very happy to greet Jenny at our little home on wheels, give her a (free) tour of our rolling cabin and sit outdoors getting to know one another. We talked about everything travel related and found that we have a lot of friends in common. Jenny came to us bearing gifts and we appreciate the fact that she and R.E.K. took time from their busy schedule to make the drive out from their Spokane home to meet us.

During mid afternoon I let our Garmin GPS unit guide all of us out to an eating-house in downtown Deer Park. Much to my “experienced travel guide” horror, our GPS led us to an empty lot in a housing area! ☹ Seeing that we were at least on the right street, we drove a few more blocks to the establishment recommended on the Internet.

Although not outstanding by any means, Shagnasty’s provided very edible food and decent service and we all came away satisfied…and full of course. We all said our good-byes in the restaurant parking lot and our new travel friend Jenny road off into the afternoon sun. We look forward to seeing these two fine people again down the road.

Before returning to our home parked at the Spokane RV Resort, we filled the truck with fuel. The price seems to be skyrocketing at 2.69.9 per gallon. Juanita also needed to pick a few items at a nearby grocery store, and with a few necessary supplies in hand, we returned to our wheeled villa.

Still full from our late lunch/early dinner, we will just rest up this evening and prepare for tomorrow’s drive to Pasco, WA. At well under 200 miles distant, we should have a nice short ride tomorrow and expect to arrive at our next destination early in the afternoon. I have never spent any time in Pasco and hope to explore the area during our short visit.

We are looking forward to more road adventures tomorrow…………………
