It was a very good day!

|Marilyn & I slept in until 7:00 this morning. Yes, that is sleeping in for us. LOL
We sat with our morning coffee, reading the blogs of our friends. We discussed our plans for next spring and summer.
We have a big, three month long, adventure planned, beginning about June 1st, 2010.
We plan to visit Oklahoma City, Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, Texas, Santa Fe and Taos, NM, Canyon de Chelly, AZ, Flagstaff, Williams, Sedona, Jerome, and the Grand Canyon, as well as Page and Lake Powell in Arizona, Bryce and Zion National Parks in Utah, Salt Lake City and the surrounding area, and then on up into Idaho, near the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
After that, we will move east to Hardin, MT to re-visit the Little Big Horn Battlefield, before moving to the Black Hills for at least two weeks.
I will be writing of our travels and the sights we see, as well as the Campgrounds, etc along the way.
If any of you good readers have experience with these places, we would enjoy your input about RV Parks, routing, sights to see, etc.
We read the blogs of many of our friends, each day, and have paid especially close attention to Jim & Ellie, who are now in Custer, SD at Broken Arrow RV Park. That is one of the two RV Parks we are considering for our two week stay next summer. The other park we are considering is Custer’s Gulch.
We awoke about 2:30 AM this morning, to the sound of rain pounding on the roof of our RV.
Man, we are so tired of this rain! It seems that it has rained more days than it has not rained since we have been back here in Missouri.
We are so ready to be in Colorado.
Our time is growing short here in Missouri and “Hitch-Itch” has set in.
We will miss our family and friends when we leave, but we sure look forward to having nice weather most of the time once we are in Colorado. We have a beautiful site reserved at Mountaindale RV Resort, just southwest of Colorado Springs. Jim & Linda will be right in front of us at Mountaindale, and it will be nice to see these good folks again.
We expect to share some good times with them while we are enjoying the good weather and clear mountain air, the beautiful Colorado scenery, hiking, great food, and the peace and quiet of the mountains.
Marilyn did the laundry today while I took advantage of my time alone and defrosted the freezer.
We spent part of the afternoon cleaning and sorting through some of our clothing, before we left to go out for dinner.
We already have two bags for “Good Will” and one bag for the dumpster, and we have just begun! Our RV should be somewhat lighter in weight by the time we leave for Colorado.
A good friend we had not seen in a long time stopped by to say hello. Bill & Janna are fine people who we are happy to see any time they stop in.
We have been looking forward to having dinner at the Garth Mansion for quite some time and this was the night!
We are back home from our dinner and it was an awesome experience to celebrate our 47th anniversary. I will dedicate a journal entry, complete with pictures, to our evening out when I write tomorrow.
For tonight, I humbly ask you to keep Dan and Dave in your prayers.
We are very happy and content right now, and simply look forward to whatever adventures tomorrow might have in store…..
