Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Up at 5:00 AM we shared a pot of coffee before driving to the hospital to meet Jennifer and Colby.

We made a stop at McDonalds on the way back home. It was raining but we wanted to pick up something for a quick breakfast.

Colby had breakfast back at the RV, but it was cooked by his Grandma Dray. On the other hand, our own breakfast was in the form of breakfast burritos with hot sauce. Hmmm….

It rained most of the day but Colby stays entertained pretty much without toys, although he has a laundry basket full to the brim with toys of all kinds. Like most kids, he prefers simple things like a bottle with something in it and the lid screwed on tight, or an old mouse from the computer. He loves to load and unload a basket with items from the pantry, and he sits on Papas lap listening to Papa read him a book. Mostly he looks at the pictures but we constantly ask him where certain things are in the pictures. He picks out trees, birds, hats, and loves the machinery of his book, “Diggers and Trucks”.

I made a run to Wal-Mart to pick up a few items and decided to bring home a sack of the miniature marshmallows. He likes the flavored ones the best.

Marilyn is feeling much better and that makes me happy. It is good to see her getting back to normal again.

I took a nap today, at the same time as Colby took his.

When we both were awake from the nap, I took Colby for a long walk. Of course, he enjoyed it more than I did because he rode in his stroller while I pushed. The rain had stopped but the humidity was near 100% so it was still uncomfortable to be outside.

One mosquito found my arm and enjoyed his last meal.

I don’t think that our bats which live in the caves are doing enough work. Either that, or they are completely sated with mosquitoes, and can’t eat any more.

Tomorrow night, Marilyn & I are going to have dinner at the Garth Mansion and we will have a journal entry about that experience.

Remember, Marilyn was too ill to go on our anniversary, so we rescheduled that dinner for tomorrow night.

I promise to have pictures and everything.

So that is pretty much all I have to report for today. It has been a good day and we have enjoyed Colby. Now we must wait until tomorrow to see what adventures that day has in store…..
