Today I boarded a plane in Guadalajara headed for Cancun. I'll play innkeeper at a friend's 7-room guesthouse on Lake Bacalar for the month of June, Casita Carolina.

It takes a long time to travel to Bacalar. First the flight to Cancun, then an airport shuttle to Playa del Carmen. I met CancunFrank, a guy I met on www.plentyoffish.com for lunch there and boarded the 3:30 bus for Bacalar. Five hours later I was relaxing with a cold beer on the patio of Casita Carolina.
