Grande Cache
One big Beaver!
| We head into Hinton to fill up with gas for our days trip to Dawson Creek. The ride on 40 across the logging country is very pleasant with rolling hills and gentle grades with a few 8% grades making life interesting. We pass through a beautiful little town called Grande Cache which sits on a mound with 8% grades on either side. The next town is some 100 miles and is Grande Prairie. This is a very large, upscale town with all the amenties including Costco, Super Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot -- you get the idea. If we were to do this trip again we would stock up in Grande Prairie. We passed a little town called Beaverlodge and you can see in the pictures that it has the biggest Beaver you could ever imagine. Arrived at Dawson Creek about 3PM and drove straight to our Campground for a toast and relaxation. |
