| We are at the beautiful Emerald Beach RV Park in Navarre Beach. Alex and I met in Ft Walton Beach in the early 70's. He was stationed at Keesler Air Force Beach. We eloped to Anniston AL and have been running the roads since. We were so surprised to see how beautiful and unspoiled the beaches were at Navarre. The beach road between Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach was just opened in May. It runs through the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Beautiful white sugar sand, dunes that are still being restored after the hurricanes that went through a few years ago, very nice guest facilities and the shells! WOW! I found some gorgeous ones. The beach is so different here. You walk out just a little and you are up to your waist. We loved it. We ate fresh seafood purchased daily at local markets. |
