|We stayed two nights at Misty River Cabin and RV Resort in Walland Tennessee.
Misty River got it's name from an old moonshiner from Townsend, who said when he made his brew from the water in the river and sampled some of it, the river would look all misty to him and the name stuck. The moonshine stills are long gone, but the river is still just as beautiful as ever.
I think if I got into the moonshine, things may look a bit misty to me too.
On are first day, we drove to Gatlinburg. We had a great time just browsing the shops, having lunch and checking out the Hollywood Wax Museum (hollywoodwax.com) and the Hollywood Star Cars Museum.(starcarstn.com). There were cars from Ghostbusters, Beverly Hillbillies, Back to the Future, the General Lee and many more. I'd have to say my favorite was Bob Hopes early 1950's Buick Skylark.
We arrived at my brother's house in MI June 5th after making a stop in Kentucky to pick up a hunting dog for my sister-in-law and having problems with our trailer tire.
A trucker waved to get our attention, we pulled over and all we had on one of the tires, well, lets just say a wheel was all that was left.
We had a spare, so Jeffrey found a place to pull over and fix our little issue. But, now since we didn't have a spare and Jeff had been wanting new tires, we found a tire shop and changed the remaining three tires along with putting in new wheel bearings.
So, off we go down the road until another man in a pickup flagged us down. We pulled over and he said that the hub cap had blown off and he seen fire coming out of the wheel. Great huh? We had to find another place to fix the problems again. Because things were so messed up they couldn't tell why exactly the reason we caught fire but they think the other business tightened up the bearing to tight. But all is well, at least my truck stayed on the trailer..
It's cold, dark and rainy here in Northern Michigan. The gardens are behind schedule or froze, some of the leaves aren't even out fully on the trees.
It's nice to know that my furnace works in my new home but it could warm up a little and stop raining.
Jeff left for work yesterday, I will be flying home on the 20th for a week and then we'll fly back here together and go over to Traverse City MI.
