| We left Jerusalem for the 265 mile trip to St. Catherine, Egypt. Today was mostly a travel day. We stopped at the Israeli resort town of Elat to eat lunch and cross the border into Egypt. This was our first time to see the Red Sea. Just a recap of the bodies of water we have seen here: Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Galilee, Salt (Dead) Sea, and the Red Sea. I thought the U.S. was paranoid about people entering the country. Within 100 yards of walking, we had to show our passports to 4 different people with Egyptian immigration. |
