What to visit

Three hills bathed in sunlight

Pagoda Hill and Tunnel Hill are both famous hills in Tunnel Hill Park. Together with Elephant Trunk Hill, they form part of the beautiful Li River Scenes. When the sun rises, the three hills are bathed in the golden morning light, creating a poetic picture.

Reflection of Pagoda Hill

Small as it is, the hill is attractive for its exquisite and oddly shaped rocks. Many tourists come here to appreciate the unique reflection of the hill in the clear Li River.

Longevity Buddha Pagoda

Pagoda Hill got its name because of the hexagonal Longevity Buddha Pagoda on it. The seven-storey brick pagoda was built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is a multi-eave pagoda and its plane is trapezoidal. On the north wall of the pagoda, a statue of Longevity Buddha (Amidabha Buddha) was encased - hence its name. The reflection of the hill in the water is one of the New Twenty-four Scenes of Guilin.

Maple trees

Many maple trees are planted at the foot of the hill. The fiery-red maple leaves of Pagoda Hill are really charming and striking in late autumn.
