Loonnnggg day on the town yesterday. Walked along some sort of China Walk of Fame in the morning, which is along this nice boardwalk that parallels Hong Kong Island on the other side of the harbour. Took the Star ferry over to HKI and went to Ocean Park! It's like a zoo, aquarium and amusement park all in one. It's so big that they have a cable car (which Garreth was terrified of) to connect the 2 sides of the park! WE SAW PANDAS!! Niether of us had ever seen a panda before they were so cool. Also fed some seals and rode a roller coaster that was pretty much dangling over the South China Sea. Totally worth the $230 HK we spent to get in.
Then we went to the fishing village of Stanley, where they have a big and very confusing market. I find markets really overwhelming because there's so much of nothing. Bought some Hong Kong patches though. From there we headed to Causeway Bay, a more upper scale shopping area. Didn't buy anything but the white-knuckle bus ride there made it worth it. I respect anyone who drives in Asia!!!!
We went home and crashed by 7 and I got up this morning at 5:30, dragging Garreth with me.
One thing we've noticed here is that there are Indian suit salesman EVERYWHERE!! And they LOVE Garreth! They literally push people out of the way (including me) to shove flyers in his face and yell "Tailored suit for the gentleman? Right this way! Cheap suit jacket or pants. Tailored suit? Maybe copy watch? Copy watch?" At least every 10 feet on main streets, and sometimes like 5 in a row, all asking the same thing.
Overall still love the city. It's so easy and efficient to get around. We would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone wanting to sample Asia. Love you all xoxox
