Hey everyone,
had an enjoyable flight with BA. I bet my marketing fellows are aware of how happy I just made them with sending this statement to all of my friends : ) But I should add that I am probably one of few people who would say that anyway. Mainly because I have short legs and no TV at home, so I guess I am especially easy to satisfy and entertain.
Also, for some funny reason I love food that is wrapped in paper and comes in small packages. It makes lunch feel a bit like Christmas...
The only major incident for me during the flight was to find out that my right ear is smaller than my left one...one of my earplugs kept on popping out and at some point landed on my neighbour's shoulder who looked at me in disgust and I had to bury myself in a magazine in shame...
Since I had the window seat I also annoyed the hell out of him with my frequent toilet visits...He on the other hand managed to get through a 10 hour flight without going once! Not once! And I saw him drinking beer! I think I happened to sit next to the only Chinese guy on the planet who is not overly hygienic and doesn't feel the need to wash his hands once in a while.
Pretty much everybody else seems to be wearing masks in fear of infections - a behaviour accompanied by a constant use of hand disinfection lotion that supposedly gets rid of all bacteria...I saw a sign next to a switch that indicated that it was being disinfected in 45 minute intervals...
My initial impression was to enter an oversized hospital rather than an airport. But people were nice and helpful, apart from a few annoying guys on the street who wanted to lure me in one of their dodgy 'guest houses'.
I actually got my own room in the hostel. It has the size of a shoe box but a flat screen TV. Who would expect that for 10 pounds a night!? I am thinking about unscrewing it to finance the next 10 nights : )
Anyways, I am glad to be here and excited about the next few days and weeks...
Miss London already though : ) Putting on a fake British accent to make myself feel at
home : )
