Hired a driver today and we went to Hartland Abbey for a walk through the walled garden and a tour of the house. The family history dates back to King Henry VIII. Descendants still reside in the house and have to open it up to tourists during the day in order to pay the taxes and upkeep. At first I thought them trapped by history but then again it's a pretty nice "prison.
When Paul came and got us we asked him to drive us to the beach - a town called Bude. It is where he lives and he showed us around. It was very pretty and really nice to see the Atlantic Ocean. Norma and I popped into the supermarket and bought some essentials - chocolate, bananas, cheese and jam.
Had a really pleasant day today . The countryside is quite beautiful and green. It is so sad that there is no way I can put my photos on this computer. I have taken some lovely pictures. I'll post them later.
Weather is gorgeous and I am sure that tomorrow wil be just as interesting as today.
