Battle of Avila Beach 26 May 2009

Attack #14-Appealing Avila26 May - We received permission to leave our AVs positioned at the State Park Encampment Area until after the first attack of the day on Avila Beach. Little did I know that the battle assembly area for this attack was within a quarter of a mile from my next encampment. Oh well, so it goes in war. This attack originated at the Bob Jones City to the Sea Bike Trail Park and Ride parking lot and followed a paved trail through scenic nature areas and along a golf course to the charming little seaside resort village of Avila Beach on the Pacific Ocean.

After the attack we returned to the state park to retrieve our AVs. I repositioned my AV at the Ocean Canyon Resort for the next 2 nights while Larry and his crew resorted to the Walmart in Atascadero. Fellow foot solders, Charlie and Betty, arrived at the resort shortly after I did and transported us to the 2nd attack of the day in San Luis Obispo some 10 miles away.
