|On Friday night it was still too hot to cook so we went down the road about a mile and had dinner at this really neat place called Catfish Charley’s Pizza. The best part was that Bob was able to have a catfish dinner that he loves and I was able to get possibly the best Pepperoni Pizza I have had in a real long time. Life doesn’t get much better than that. The campground started filling up on Friday and by Saturday afternoon it was completely full. There are all kinds of camping units here and a lot of tent campers too. On Friday night there was a Cruise In at the campground and we got to check out a few classics cars. On Saturday we went to one of the smallest Memorial Day parades imaginable right out in front of the campground in what is probably downtown Buckeye Lake. It was small but still had a lot of patriotic spirit. The campground had two of the couple of dozen entries in the parade. After the parade we checked out Buckeye Lake that is actually quite large and very pretty. In the afternoon the campground had a dog show and of course we couldn’t miss that. It was still really hot so we cooked out again and sat outside until after dark. Today I wanted to go into downtown Columbus to see the State Capitol Building. This was the fourth State Capital we have visited, just 46 more to go. I’m pretty sure we will never get to see them all but it is something to do. On our way back to Buckeye Lake we found an air-conditioned antique mall and that was a nice way to spend the rest of a really warm afternoon. Right around 4 o’clock we heard some thunder and had a nice rain shower, not so much that the tent campers were washed out but just enough to cool things down a little. The temperature went from 88 to 70 so now it feels pretty good.
