Hunter's Travel travel blog

Well we arrived at River Bend Resort in Waterton, Wisconsin only here one day. We arrived late afternoon and have to say that we were very disappointed in the site they gave us. We weren't told that the park doesn't open officially till May long weekend so they only had a small area of the park open to camp which was not really suitable for a rig our size.

The road was so narrow it was terrible trying to back the rig into the spot. Finally we had a couple of guys come over and help otherwise I don't know if we would have gotten into it. No sewer and the showers for the resort were a long distance away. We said thank goodness we were only staying one night. Sure makes you appreciate Holiday Park at a time like this.

We met the new manager of the resort and found out that he just took it over a month ago because they have been having so many problems there. They had a huge flood from the river last year that damaged a lot of the property and units that were there and they are still recovering from that. I do have to say once it gets fixed up again it will be absolutely beautiful there. They have a huge pool area that has one section for the kids with slides and another area for the adults and another area for say teens so they can dive and etc.

The other facilities they have are horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball you name it they have it. We don't have internet for the next couple of days so will post later once we are in Fort Atkinson.
