Lisi's European Adventure travel blog

Dear Italy:

You stink...I havent had a breath of fresh air since 2 days ago (in france), your cities may not have a crapload of people in them, but they sure as hell sound like they do. Your commuters wont stop honking, people spit everywhere, people yell and scream at each other like ive never heard before. Youre alnnoying noisy kids are 5 times noisier than the most annoying noisy kid Ive ever heard. Smog destroys the nice views of the hills that your cities are built in, youre muggy and clammy (and not in that good-for-your-skin tropical way).

Your men are aggressive and I dont understand how the beautiful women of your country can stand it. Your street beggers are also aggressive, and use their small kids ot make me feel guilty for not giving them money. I wear earplugs every night to bed, and when I wake up and open the window in the morning the first sounds I hear are of the immigrant street vendors trying to pawn ripoff gucci bags on unsuspecting tourists.

I may be learning to understand and appreciate you, but at this point - I still cant wait to get out of here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We took the train from Nice to Genova yesterday and to my dissappointment, ended up in another gross smoggy loud city. Thankfully the owner of our budget hotel - Stefano - was lovely enough to make up for that dissappointment, and gave us some good advice for what to do next...

Lisi:"Sefano, we have two weeks until we need to be in Rome, I refuse to visit another city like this. What should we do"(shows him her map of italy)

Stefano: "You want to see cities or sea, you want to see sea?"

Lisi and Chantal: "SEA, SEA, QUIET, MUST FIND QUIET SEA"

Stefano: "Corsica"

I found this ironic, because corsica is actually a french island, but whatever.

HA!!!
