|We travelled just 3 1/2 hours today from Sioux Falls to Austin. The weather was good except the wind was really strong so we went threw almost 1 1/2 tanks of gas to get this far. We didn't want a long day today just wanted to get part way and have a day of rest.
We napped this afternoon and it was great we could hear the rain on the roof. We're staying at another Yogi Bear RV Park it's a fairly new one in their chain and they are just starting to fix it up. I think it will be very nice once their finished, a very nice family owns it so they have their whole family working here. They have a petting zoo, swimming pool with slides, horseshoes and during the summer they hold a lot of activities around the park.
We took a nice walk around the park today and there is a really nice fishing lake and you can rent paddle boats to go out onto it. They seem to have a lot of full-time people that leave their rigs here year round. My understanding is they are only open 6 months out of the year. They have a small restaurant onsite we ordered a pizza tonight and brought it back to the rv it was quite good.
We can't believe how fast the time is going, this time next week we will be at Gary's in Chicago already then up to Michigan and then Ontario to start the trip around the Maritimes. The weather looks like it is going to start getting better.
To Trish just to let you know Austin is the home of the SPAM Museum it reminded me of our camping trips with you and Jack. Of course we were the only two who liked SPAM luncheons. Mom & Jack would just turn their noses up. They were good times now girl all you have to do is retire and join us!!!
