Woah... I'm not sure how much time I'm actually gonna have to write in this thing...but oh well. The first few days have been pretty rough! Just getting over a bad cold and getting adjusted to the time and craziness. I'm starting to feel a little better though. Chantal and I spent the first few days in Milan, and have spent the last 2 days in Torino. We're about to head to see some Olympic sites and tomorrow we're taking the train to Nice for a day or two (hopefully visiting Monaco back on the way to Italy). Next stops will be Genova and then who knows from there! Tonight I'm going to call Ryan to get his opinion on a Croatian sailing tour that we have been looking at, the timing should work out perfectly for his trip too!
After 3 weeks in Italy, 2 weeks in Croatia, and 2 weeks in Greece we will be heading to Achill Island in Ireland. Chantal is running a half marathon in Keel on July 3rd, then we'll head back to Italy to catch our flight home from Milan, or see if we can somehow catch a cheap flight to Frankfur for that connection of the flight, instead of having to go back to Italy.
A friend once told me that Italy could be your best friend or your worst enemy, that it can be picturesque beautiful coastal towns and delicious food, or noisy chaotic and full of car horns and yeling people. I now understand the latter, but am on my way to hopefully experiencing the better part of that :)
