| Angkor Wat: Archeology on steroids... the filmed parts of an Indian Jones movie here. The sites (plural) are extensive and well preserved. Definitely worth a few days of your vacation in SE Asia if you appreciate Archeology. What I didn't realize is this is not one site but MANY sites spread over many miles. This area was built from about 800AD to 1400 AD when the Khmer ruled much of SE Asia. For those interested the best thing is to research Angkor Wat on the internet, but the pictures give you a very limited idea of what is here. |
