Another great day and sleep in, it will be hard for the children to go back to school wake ups in the mornings, we are rally into the European way of life with dining late and late starts.
However, we got on the road by 11 to drive off to St Tropez, said on our trusty Tom Tom only 70km to the coast, but what a hellova windy road! Got to gorgeous St Tropez, tried to find a beach to have our standard baguette cheese and salami lunch at, but were hard to find. I found one that was 20 euro ($50NZ) to sit on a deck chair on, so moved on pretty quickly.
Drove into the village and parked next to many luxury launches, life styles of the rich and famous! Then we went on an hour boat cruise around the area, taking in huge homes of movie stars, (Elvis Presley owned one) Bridgette Bardot etc to name a few. we also saw a great display of planes that extinguish fires by getting their water out of the sea.
Ross and I sat at a gorgeous water side cafe, 10 euro for 2 beers and savoured every mouthful, watching all sorts of sights and scenes...the one that took the cake was the foo foo dog (like izzy) complete with beret on head....sad.
Drove back to our retreat in the hills our villa for a lovely homemade meal, and Annelise produced yet another gourmet dessert.
