Kitchener To Savanah and More 2009 travel blog

Slow start as we didn't have far go. Headed for the Reading and Lancaster area. Stopped at the Pennsylvania Welcome Center on Hwy 15 and got lots of information including a route to Reading. The route they gave us was awful. It went through suburban areas with lots of traffic lights and included sections with 9%-10% hills. Very slow going. After a tiring drive we ended up at French Creek State Park outside Reading around 5:00 PM. Had to take a non-electric site as everything else was taken. It doesn't bother us as we are self-sufficient. We will change to an electric site tomorrow after the weekend crowd goes home as the temperatures are expected to drop to the low 40's and high 30's by Monday night. Our furnace is a large drain on our batteries and we need to be plugged in. Today the temperature was 80 and sunny. We will use this as a base to explore the area. The fifth wheel is working great. Easy to tow and very comfortable to live in. We will include detailed pictures once we get settled.
