Clear sky, warm 25o
We had a good sleep, a little cool this morning, but soon warmed up to a beautiful day. Joyleen cooked up a storm, bacon, eggs, hash browns etc. Very filling. We soon headed off to The Galleria to buy meat for a Mother’s Day barbeque.
After bringing the shopping home we went to try some wines at Penelli Wines about 5 minutes drive from Joyleen’s. There were a number of people tasting wines here, mainly young people under 30. They. also sold wine in 2 litre flagons. The wine was actually quite tasty, so I bought a flagon of Cab Sav. Onto Matthew and Susan’s about a half an hour drive into the hills. On the way we called into a bakery at Gidgegannup. Robert and I had a very tasty chicken and corn pie, whilst the girls had a potato pie. It was enormous and filling.
It wasn’t long before we arrived at Matthew’s. 5 acres of land on a sloping block that overlooked a small valley. The house is located partway down the sloping block. Matthew is in the process of constructing a stable for Susan’s horse and one a little later on for Matthew. Most of the fencing has now been constructed. 5 Egyptian sheep are located in the paddock below the stable. Matthew has a few car bodies in various stages of restoration of wrecking around the farm. There is still quite a lot of around the property to finish, but it does look good.
We weren’t able to visit Craig as they were out, so off to a couple of wineries and the Margaret River Chocolate Factory. The chocolate was very smooth tasting, but expensive to buy, OK for a gift.
We called into John and Margaret’s to drop off some things, then to dinner at Sienna’s, Primo type café. The meals were very tasty. The challenge was then on, double canasta, girls against boys. The night ended 1 all and very close in scores.
