Today it was off to the World Golf Hall of Fame in Saint Augustine about thirty miles south of Jacksonville. After arriving we took some pictures and entered the Hall of Fame. The first exhibits was Bob Hope titled Shanks for the memories. This was a large collection of golf memorabilia. It started with his birth in England to coming to the states. He preformed his comedy acts from vaudeville to entertaining the troops. It also showcased his sponsorship of the Bob Hope Classic that is held in Palm Springs in January every year.
Then we went through the history of kolf that turned into golf. I have pictured them in the link below. We tried putting with golf balls and wooden putters of the 1880's. Then the picture of George walking over a replica of the Swilcan Burn Bridge located at the old course, St Andrews Scotland. Then we toured the trophy room, members locker room, and the hall of fame. Located here is individual bronze reliefs of the members of the hall.
Then we went to the Murray Brothers Caddyshack restaurant. Everyone may know Bill Murray in the movie Caddyshack. Well inside the restaurant is all caddy things and good food. Debi had her picture taken with the alligator outside and feeding the fish in the lake located in the center of the village. We then when to the IMAX movie and visited shops buying golf stuff.
Well it was time to get back to let Heidi out of the camper. We were so full from lunch so we had only a little bite to eat for dinner.
Tomorrow George will take the clubs out and walk the grass and enjoy the day.
I have posted more PicturesMore later as we keep moving on
