A picture of how Fort Scott looked when built.

This is how it looks today. The building in the front is...

This is the lake at El Dorado. 8000 acres and the water...

We met up with the 1st traveling companions, Don and Alice Faye Turney this morning in Carthage, MO. We traveled together to a Kansas State Park in El Dorado call Bluestem. It is located on the larges lake in Kansas, but the water was way high from all the rain they have been having. The RV sites were about as bad as you will find anywhere. Neither of us had ever seen any laid out like they were.

Our satellite dome is not working. It just searches and searches but never locks on to a signal so that we can use Direct TV. We will have to use a manual trip pod setup that I hate, so will try and get the dome fixed asap.

Alice Faye fixed supper for us that included Margarita Pie. WOW, was it good.

Don and Alice Faye have a wii and we did the bowling game. What a blast and it is very realistic. They have other wii games so we will probably be doing a lot of wii while on our trip.

While driving from Carthage, MO to El Dorado, KS we stopped at Fort Scott, KS to see the military fort built there about 1840. They built some nice building 170 years ago.
