GAHP 2008 Team

Frank and Dan

Everyone met at Sector’s restaurant for an early morning breakfast before posing for a group foto. While Grainne stayed behind with Frank to hopefully retrieve the luggage held at customs, the two treatment teams headed out for our first treatment day. My team packed our treatment supplies into a rented van and headed up the coast for a four-hour ride to Desa Ban to treat at the East Bali Poverty Project. Last year, GAHP treated ten or so young kids there with developmental challenges and we were headed back to check-in on their progress.

We stopped along the way in the seaside village of Amed to check-in at our hotel, Hidden Paradise Cottages – small cottages offered to us at a significant discount by friends-of-friends of a yayasan member. This place would be our home base for the next thirteen days, from which my team will travel daily to remote villages in the north-east parts of Bali.
