Noreen & Bob's 2009 Adventures travel blog

You are right, why aren't we in Albuquerque and Santa Fe...the short answer...COLD, WIND-CHILL COLD.

When we left Santa Rosa it was 42 and the wind was at least 35 mph...by the time we arrived in Albuquerqe..it was 38 and the wind was at least 40!!! We elected to turn south instead and kept on going through the cross winds and head winds back to one of our favorite towns, Las Cruces and Messilla.

We are camped at a "rv resort", yet...continental breakfast and hot tubs :) :) :). If the wind dies down, we can ride our bikes into Messilla and find a golf course, too. We'll be here only a few days until the winds die down, then we're heading west to Yuma and points inbetween.

I've learned my lesson, if the weather forecast has the "windy" symbol...pay closer attention...we've burned a lot of gas and struggled to stay in one lane to learn the lesson...a little, luck and we won't need to use the lessons in the miles to come to LA and north :) BOb

NOREEN: I really wanted to see Albuquerque and Santa Fe. I've heard so much about those cities from Mr. S. But, at this point in time, I feel like I've seen and "felt" so much, (especially these past couple of weeks). My time in the company of Paul and Liz was precious to say the least. My week with Jeanne was alos very important to me and I have nobody but Bob to thank for the time we had together. SO, we are back in La Cruses. Who knows - this City may become mighty important to this fast growing Sherwin Family. I couldn't be happier.

p.s. Paul has elected to take the middle road --- Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado --- before heading North --- EVEN AFTER BEING WArned about the storm system coming in from the West. Pray for his wisdom to lay over at good, ol' country bar/hotel until the storm blows thru
