After a gruelling 27 bus ordeal, I managed to get to Antarctica- or as close as I will get for a long time- at least my hostel is called Antarctica as a small consolation.
Collapsing into bed immediately and endured the rowdy hostel guests in the wee hours- I got my revenge by rattling loads of plastic bags very early in the morning when I got up. I raced off to get a plane ticket to BA- I couldn`t endure three days on a bus to get up north again. Who do I run into, but Daylin- also trying to get back ito the civilised world.
So, We raced through the bore of buying stuff and went out to Tierra Del Fuego NP and off on our magnificent hikes. Brilliant stuff, but this time she had to race to keep up with me- I am flying these days!!!!! Naturally after such effort, we had to reward ourselves with chocolate cake and hot drinks at the end- Yet again I eat and drink my way around the world- even at the very end of it!!!
Ushuaia is kind of a nice town- quite colourful in parts, but it is freezing, and snowing wildly outside, so I think it is better to stay inside and chill in an entirely different manner.way.
I spent a snow day inside, then had a brilliant day out on the beagle channel where I saw so many wild animals it was brilliant- there were cormorants that looked like penguins, seals playing in the water, sealions, albatross, ducks, gulls, petrels and birds big and small that I won`t even try to identify. The day was brilliant sunshine too, so I had magnificent views.
I lived it up a little in Ushuaia and even convinced someone else to cook for me the whole time I was there. Thanks Daylin and Five big cheers for Five big meals Marco.
