""Go softly in the world,
go softly in the world,
if it is harmed
it cannot return;
go softly..."
- YORUBA PEOPLE -
The whole rhythm of this trip has changed, slowed down to a softer beat, and it's lovely indeed. We have all been crying out for this to different degrees, me to a large degree.
Just the opportunity to sit, laze, veg and swim on my own beach for a morning was awesome. No group. No conversation, except with the local kids walking home from school on the beach who relished reading their school books, every page in every book, in Portugese, to Kerry and I.
Ah fish! Ah crabs! Ah calamari! (don't ask me to say calamari in Danish, unless you need a giggle.....) it was very much seafood heaven for a few days.
No camping on the island, just pure unadulurated beds off the ground with mozzie nets under a solid roof! Luxury!
Travelling to the island on the Dhows was very relaxing and tranquil. We saw dolphins on the way that jumped and played in the boats wake, almost on que.
