(Leaving: San Antonio, TX - Destination: Malvern, AR - 571 miles)

05:00 AM The alarm wakes us. It is raining and we don't want to get up, but we have a long day ahead of us.

06:00 AM We get dressed and then head down the hall to the lobby for some breakfast. We all have waffles again!

07:00 AM We finish packing and Jerry goes to the parking lot and gets the van and drives to the loading area. We load the van and then check out.

07:20 AM We get on I-35 and head north towards Austin, TX.

10:00 AM We stop for gas and a break. We pick some sodas and snacks.

10:17 AM We are moving again. We take I-35E toward Dallas, then I-20 east, then I-635 to bypass Dallas, then finally I-30 east.

12:10 PM We are on I-30 heading east well past Dallas now and are getting hungry, so we start looking for a place to have some lunch. We find a Cracker Barrel in Greenville, TX. The food is good as usual and we all eat too much.

01:15 PM We are done with lunch and get back on I-30 heading for Arkansas.

03:06 PM We cross the state line into Arkansas.

04:26 PM We arrive at the Comfort Inn at Malvern, AR, our home for the next TWO nights! We unload the van and then Jo Ann and Betty head for the Guest Laundry to wash some clothes. They only do one big load.

06:50 PM We are tired but hungry so we set out to find some dinner. We first stop at "The Hungry Fisherman", but it is closed, so we travel on and find a Western Sizzler. The food is not excellent, but it is good and plentiful. After dinner, we decide to drive into Hot Springs (about 10 miles away) to scout out our route for tomorrow. It is crowded with people everywhere waiting on a fireworks show. We find our dierctions for tomorrow and leave before it gets any more crowded.

09:30 PM We are back at the Comfort Inn in Malvern and out come the rummy cards.

10:45 PM We stop the card games and get ready for bed.

11:00 PM Lights out.
