6 weeks at Elizabeth Harbour.

George Town, there's always something to do,and relaxing is one of them.

We left Ontario September 18,2008,we arrived in the Bahamas,December 21st.

Our chosen route was the outer Islands from the north in the Abacos to the south in the Exumas.

A relaxing journey covering some 400 miles, taking approximately 8 weeks.

We arrived in George Town/Elizabeth Harbour on February 13th,the next day was Valentines Day.we joined in the fun and exercise at the chat"n"chill Valentines dance where whatever your age you were 29 years old again.doing the "electric slide" and other fun dances.

Many nights were filled with potluck dinners on a variety of cruising boats, sometimes with fresh conch or lobster, which both of us successfully hunted down.

The two week long cruisers Regatta was full of daily activities, one race around the Island and one inharbour race.

A night of the "non-talent show" brought rounds of laughter followed by a dance in the sand, music supplied by d.j./ cruiser "Rockin' Ron"

On the 10th of March our friend Dianna flew in from Toronto for a 14 day visit.

She really got a taste for the cruising lifestyle. The one mile ride in the 7ft dinghy across the Bay to the boat with 12 knot winds really was a wild "n' wet one.The next day we upanchored and ventured out into the deep blue waters of the Exuma Sound, just to give her a taste and feel of the ocean.Once the holding tank was empty we came back into the Harbour but we anchored in a secluded spot.

here the 3 of us went snorkelling and returned to the boat with 3 conch which we cleaned and had for dinner. The days went by like hours, and it wasn't long before our new found fellow cruisers joined us for a farewell potluck dinner aboard 'Sweet Surrender' wishing Dianna many happy returns and even a crew position to Cuba!

All is quiet aboard 'Sweet Surrender'as we wait for the winds to slow down, they have been blowing 20-25 knots for the past 5 days.We are prepairing for our journey back to the USA Eastern seaboard and will be cruising with a buddy boat ALIBI TWO a 35 ft ketch. We will be taking the shorter/faster route via Nassua and once in the gulf stream try to make the best of it weather permitting. This should take us one week and we will keep you informed as we search out internet access along the way. Fort Pierce or Cape Canaveral will most likely be our port of entry.

We had a great time here and enjoyed our 6 wks moving from anchorage to anchorage in Elizebeth Harbour and all the wonderfull people we met.
