Tunnel

City from the hill

Opera House ceiling

Barber Shop

Market

The bus came early for our day trip to Guanajuato. This turned out to be another 3 hour round trip bus ride.

The city is very interesting. It is build from a valley floor up on to the steep hills all around. In addition, since the roads are so steep and narrow, they have a maze of tunnels under the city for through traffic.

It would take a long time to learn your way around!

We off loaded to smaller buses, and we drove under and over the city.

We had lunch in a great restaurant across from the opera house. The opera house reminded us of the one in Manaus, Brazil. It was much smaller here, but in the same style.

While the tour went on, I took a personal side trip for a hair cut. I just couldn't stand any more of the 2 months of uncut growth.

What a relief, and it only cost 35 pesos, about $2. I wandered the market,

and sat under a tree watching an afternoon shower, until the bus was ready to return.
