the glass elevator

My massive suitcase and I made it safely to Sao Paulo. Unfortunately I had to get us from there to the port of Santos about 2 hours away. I had booked a transfer through the cruise line and expected they would meet me at the airport. After waiting around the arrivals area a while, I had the representative from Costa paged. There was still no sign of them so I tried the local ground agent who only spoke Portuguese. I tried to keep my cool while on hold with the Costa office in the US. They informed me they should be there soon. When soon didn't happen I went to the visitor information desk to inquire about transportation. The agent said I would need to take a bus to a taxi to the subway. Apparently it was too far to take a taxi all the way. In a last ditch attempt I got her to call the ground agent for me (on my phone). It turned out they were waiting for me in the wrong terminal! There seem to be some communication issues between the US and International offices. I saw this continue once I found my room on board. There was a card with my name on the bed but no other info. The cabin attended admitted she had been given no information on my name preferred language or how many passengers to expect.
