Well, we took care of some housekeeping today, literally and figuratively. I finally found the lady that I needed to in order to get clean sheets and towels today- score! We will now have housekeeping every other day, which may seem excessive except that I can’t seem to find a way to keep water from the shower off of the bathroom floor. The same lady had the outlet in the bathroom fixed, and is working on getting the phone up and working. The phone is not a huge deal, except for checking on excursions or real estate stuff. We’ve been going to a phone center down the street, which works fine as long as we don’t close the door to the booth. Kadu and I don’t both fit inside together. I also paid the lady today for the rest of my stay. For those of you who are interested, I’m keeping track of what I’m spending, and will share some average expenses with you if you want. I’m clear now till we get to Morocco….I will probably make those arrangements later this week as to not get stuck. The little Lonely Planet guide to Marrakesh that I picked up on my way out of town hopefully has enough info to get us through the 4-5 days we’ll be there. I try not to think about the next stop too much because I think it takes away from the present, but I need to at least have a loose plan with a 3 yr old….

My friend Patricio came by and we chatted about doing some things later in the week. I booked an all day trip to the mountains for Wednesday just in case he doesn’t have time. He promised to show me land/building ideas as well, but I’m calling a real estate person tomorrow for fun. Then it was off to the city center, a part of the city we have not explored, shockingly. The government buildings are there- and you guessed it, another park. Every street is lined with trees, and by eyeballing I figure they are 15 feet apart. By every street, I mean every street in the city. It’s a little weird…a guy told me the other day that it only rains like 5 days a year here. It never rains, and everything is green all of the time because of the canals. It’s nice when we’re walking around in the heat, because there is always shade. The houses on the side of the city we were on today were nice, but the neighborhoods seemed a little more touch and go. More graffiti, etc. Not enough to make me nervous or anything…..

In the late afternoon we hit the pool. Nobody there but us today- and Kadu was brave enough to get in even though the water is always FREEZING. I don’t understand how the water can be so cold when it is sunny all day. I seem to be getting tan from hanging at the pool from 5-7 pm.

It’s 9 pm and we’re just getting ready to eat dinner. They have beef tenderloin here for like $9. Kadu chose pizza, and I’m having a salad (and who am I kidding, part of his pizza). Maybe we’ll do the tenderloin tomorrow…..

XOXOXO
