Yay! February 6 was the magical day that I got to move into my new huge house in the Historic Centre. I really liked my old place though the constant violin-playing and German weirdness was getting to me. I got out just in time.
Tamara came to my place with her bags, no one even bothered in her host family to eat dinner with her the night before, and we were picked up and taken to our fabulous new house. Even bigger and better than we had imagined! My second floor bedroom is surrounded by windows of the street and is like 90 times bigger than my bedroom at home. We have a huge 2 story skylight overlooking our kitchen table and a big rooftop patio with an office and laundry room.
Saturday we had a little party- the gang came as well as Tam's friend and roommate and her school friend David plus my friend Paulie from the old apartment. It was a big potlock so we all made fabulous food- Tam made Mauritian bread and tzatziki, I made "curried" chicken (since Ecuadorian curry powder taste like barbecue), Mar made her spicy green bean dish, Paulie brought brownies, Alex made stirfry.. we had tons of beers and champagne and listed to bad pop music and lived it up. Great times. The crew slept over though Alex had some bird fieldtrip the next morning so just the four of girls made a monstrously amazing breakfast made of french toast, nutella, whipped cream, juice, REAL french press coffee and tons of fresh berries and ate it on our wondrous patio in the sun. This is the life!!
Later on, we cleaned ourselves up and headed to Parque Itchimbia up on the hill to see the Orquid festival. Well we were met by a huge line-up and so didn't go in but decided to walk around, enjoy the views, buy a Panama hat (thats me) and have a lovely lunch. Done! Yay!
