.
I woke at 7.30am and was not tired ...very strange. We got showered, dressed and packed up,left the caravan and drove to Richmond for breakfast. We listened to The Witches by Roald Dahl. We have now listened to every story I think so we will start learning them off by heart soon!!!
We had something at the bakery where the lady making my coffee was from Perth too!!!
We then went to a cafe for a real breakfast ....we are going to roll into Perth the way we are eating!!!
We then visited the pharmacy and then drove to all the different homes for sale. After chatting to one owner, I dropped Sean off to chat to a real estate agent whilst I went into a Teddy Bear shop. I really wanted to buy something for Nat and Lawrence's baby but did not know the sex but I kept wanting to buy a boy golliwog but did not just in case!!!
I chatted to the owner and she is a fourth generation Richmond local!!! She filled me in on the gossip of the town and we swapped numbers. She will keep me in touch with any sales or businesses that may come available.
We then drove into Hobart, 20 minutes, and drove around Battery Point and Sandy Bay considering the how old the city is it is immaculate.
We decided to go on a double decker bus tour as the kids saw it and asked if we could do it!! But we had time to spare so we visited the Museum and Art centre. It was very impressive. We had to leave without seeing it all as the Bus tour was soon to start.
The tour was fun and informative ....I did not realise that Hobart is the second dryest capital city in Australia, second to Adelaide and that it is the second oldest town. That it was the only city in the Southern Hemisphere that had double decker trams...they did not work well as the roads were too windy.
Sara started to fall asleep near the end of the tour and Miranda was giving renditions of Mama Mia!!!
We thanked our tour guide and then headed to the boat harbour to buy fish and chips off the floating restaurants that cook what they catch!!!
We met a guy from Chicago that had just finished his Masters in Melbourne on urbanisation. He was very sweet and chatted to the kids. After some eating their fish and chips we had icecreams and walked into the city shopping area. We spent some time in Myers and bought some books for Sunday's Ferry trip and some more socks from Target.
We got in touch with Mike and Anika and will meet them tomorrow at the Salamanca Markets.
