Dercy's Coco-huts has a night watchman. His name is Matthew but really, I call him Gilligan (to myself). He sort of shows up when you least expect him to and he's a little bit goofy in a very endearing way. I took a picture of him (in his Gilligan hat) but pictures will have to wait for the next post. I haven't uploaded them yet. He gave me a stack of post cards this morning. I don't know why. I don't know where I'll put them, but I have to keep them. (Karren, you can have them. You asked for post cards.)
My lock broke (it wouldn't open) on my hut so for the past few days, I had to sort of slide out from the bottom of the door. It was very troublesome for the night bathroom trips. Luckily, the lock decided to open today so I can now enter and exit like a normal human being. Just in time for me to move.
Shh... I 'upgraded' my room. I moved across the road to "Palm Beach Lifestyle Resorts." It sounds much nicer than it is. But I moved because I was half eaten through the night. The mosquitos come out at night and I hope I haven't caught some disease. This is where those shots I got better do their trick.
I was on a mission this morning to find a scooter to rent. I walked to the middle of town (that makes it sound larger than it is). After searching and searching for something I expected to look like an Enterprise Rental location (ha), I just asked a person standing outside his shop where I could rent a scooter. At that moment, his friend drove by and he said I could rent that one. So his friend got off the scooter and gave me the keys. No deposit. No insurance waiver form. No checking the gas tank so they know that I return it full. So I just took the keys and drove away. I guess I'll just bring it back there when I'm done with it?
