Today the kids left for Seattle at 8:00AM. The time seems to have flown by. We had a lot of fun visiting the parks and riding plenty of rides with the them. Annika and Drew enjoy those days and as the days wore on the energy levels began to fade. They set a pretty torrid pace to start. It was fun trying to keep up with them.
On Sunday we drove over to the Kennedy Space Center. They postponed the launch from the 12th to 19th at that time. They have since delayed it again until that have a review on the 20th. The kids had the opportunity to have lunch with Astronaut Storey Musgrave on Sunday. He has been up into space on 6 different shuttle launches. He told the kids that they should try the Shuttle Launch Experience as it was as close as you could get to an actual launch. So we took Annika over to try it out. Drew was a couple inches short of the height requirement so he watched from a control room. It was interesting but I am sure the real thing is a lot more intense. All in all though it will change the way in which you view the next shuttle launch.
We stopped again at the Dixie Crossroads for their Rock Shrimp dinners as we left the Space Center. The kids enjoyed feeding the fish.
We visited the parks a couple more times this past week and the kids got to spend plenty of time in the pool at the resort. They are both becoming very good swimmers.
It was great to be able to visit them and we look forward to seeing them again in a couple of months.
