Victor and Joanne's Mexico 2009 Adventure travel blog

This morning, we decided to leave a little later as we were not sure how far we would drive and we've been putting in long days. As we head up Interstate 5, we find the drive fairly easy (especially at 120 KPH) and US maintained roads. As we head north, we decided to stop in Tracy (near Sacramento) so that we might decide on the next leg of our journey. We want to consider going the coastal route since we now have some extra time, depending on the forecast. If it's pelting rain we might stick to I5. We had a sprinkling of rain today. It's the first we have experienced since very early in January.

Along I5 there have been some lovely areas of farmland crossing hectares of fruit trees that are now in bloom. Varieties of cherry, apple, pear, and peach blossoms everywhere, coupled with verdant grassy hillsides, making the trip a little more enjoyable.

Our "Gerri" had us coming into town by 6:30 and that’s fine by us. That way, we can settle in to our Motel 6, go for a bite to eat at Denny's (right next door) and head to bed early for the next day’s adventure.
