My lunch at Toko Karachillio in the Market Square. Omelet and vegetables...

I sleep late and got up about 11am here (5am MD time). I went to the corner bakery first to return the basket that contained the welcome basket when I first got here.

Then I started to go towards the square, which is about a 15 minute walk from the place that I am staying.

The buildings are old (around 16th century). Mechelen is an important city. It was the capital of the Netherlands back in the 16th century. It is in the middle of the Flemish part of Belgium now. There are three parts of Belgium (Dutch, French and German). The Dutch is the largest part then the French part and the German part is the smallest part. Most of the street are brick or stone. Not many paved roads.

I ate at a small resturant in the Market Square. I plan on going back before I go to explore more.
