We're beginning to wear down.
Feb 19, 2009
|We were up by 6:00 AM this morning. Marilyn had the coffee done in time for me to drink a cup and a half before I joined Carl and Jesse for our morning walk.
Carl was our leader this morning so we walked up and down the streets in the north section of the resort, looking at all the rigs and the different setups.
By the time we finished we had walked three miles today. Carl is looking good and has obviously lost some weight with the daily exercise.
Back at the RV, I jumped in the shower and put on clean comfortable clothing for another trip across the border into Mexico.
We left at 10:30 this morning and were soon walking along the crowded sidewalks toward our regular eating place for lunch.
After spending nearly two hours at lunch in the “Red Snapper” we spent a bit more time deciding what to do with the remaining afternoon.
The ladies went shopping. In fact, it was an easy decision for them. LOL
The guys decided to head back home after a stop for some liquid refreshment.
Rick was driving and he dropped Larry and Don at the Motel, then dropped me off at the RV, before heading back to his own RV.
I dozed off for a few minutes in the recliner, worked some cryptograms, watched the Military Channel for awhile, and relaxed.
Marilyn arrived back here around 3:30 and we had some time to just kick back for awhile.
The group decided to get together again, this time at the Motel.
The Motel was nice enough to allow us to meet in the restaurant, which was closed. That was nice of them, but they did ask us to leave shortly after 6:00 PM, because they needed to get things ready for the breakfast crowd in the morning.
We all got together in Larry & Dorie’s room. They have a huge room and it was not crowded, even with eight of us sitting around in chairs we moved in from the pool area.
We had planned to play “Catch Phrase” but ended up just visiting about various people we know.
We enjoyed our time together and drove back to the resort and were all comfy in our recliners by 8:30 PM.
It was a good day but Marilyn & I are beginning to feel the effects of the pace. We normally do not go somewhere every day. Our lives are pretty relaxed and casual. We spend time doing something nearly every day, but it is frequently just having a cocktail with our friends or visiting with the neighbors.
In any case, we are now in for the night.
We will be flying back to Missouri for Colby’s first birthday celebration, next week.
Once we return to the valley, our time will be pretty short before moving up to Kerrville, then down to Brackettville to spend some time with Kit & Jerry.
After a good visit with those fine friends, we’ll be moving on west to Big Bend National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, Palo Duro Canyon, and back to Hannibal, MO, once again.
Don’t worry, we’ll keep you right beside us, at least in cyber space, for the journey.
So now it is time to put this old computer away and relax before going to bed for a good night of sleep.
We don’t have to be anywhere early tomorrow and I just can’t wait to see what that day has in store…..
