We got an early start this morning and arrived at TT Orlando without any problems. I kept an eye on the tranny temperature and also on the light that was blinking on the way down there 3 weeks ago. I really don't think we need a new "rebuilt" tranny. I do think we need a larger tranny cooler than the stock one on the truck. I have been reading on the net about people having overheating problems and they have installed the tranny coolers from the newer 6.0 Powerstroke diesels. I may do the same and install one on my 7.3 Powerstoke. Mine currently cools from running the tranny fluid through the radiator and it does a poor job. My temps this morning were running around 210 to 235 towing our 20,000 pound trailer through many little towns along our 70 mile trip. I'm hoping a external large cooler will do the job and keep my temps down. All through California this past summer I was running hot but within the limits on my gauge but I did not realize that I was actually 25 degrees hotter than it indicated.
We were not able to get a site at the Orlando TT park even close to where we were the first time here. We did however pick a site that has no one on our patio side and that makes for a little privacy. I will miss the tall pines behind us like we had before here and I'm sure Rio will miss them too. I would always take him up in the tall pines to do his business. Our site here has a new surface on it and it almost appears like concrete but it's not. It is perfectly level and is hard as a rock.
As soon as we got set up Judy started washing clothes and rugs. We did not have a sewer site for the past 3 weeks so she was limited on doing laundry. She did do a few loads but not like she always does. I'm sure she will be at it the rest of the day. In between the loads of clothes she vacuumed the RV and washed the floors. She was about tuckered out when she asked if I would finish the floors for her and I was glad to help out.
It a sunny day today but a little breezy. I sort of like it like this because it does not seem so humid.
That's about it for today and tomorrow I'll be going to visit the Ford garage and see what they think should be done to our truck. I'm sure they will still want to replace my tranny with a $4000 one. Maybe not, they seemed like straight shooters to me.
You all enjoy your day or whats left of it. Adios amigos.
Happy Camping,
Bob, Judy and our 2blackdogs
