Short day today as we only drove about a hundred miles. Left La Paz at seven, and reached Cabo at about 10:30.
We had about 30 km of four lane highway today. Nearly forgot how easy it is to drive freeways. All the highways in B.C. Sur are slowly, but surely being up graded. Bits and pieces here and there, but enough to see what it'll be in a few years. I suppose it will increase tourism, and that's got to be good for the economy, though I suspect it'll turn some of it into less desirable destinations.
We did have a bad incident today. One of our tour mates drove down to the beach in their small motor home, left it to walk a bit, and came back to two windows broken, and a computer, most of their money, credit cards and passports gone. Just like big cities back home, there's always somebody who'd rather rip of some oneelse than make a living.
Haven't spoken to them since the incident, but I expect the toughest part will be to get passports replaced. They are from Vancouver, so are Canadian. I hope they can get in touch with a Canadian Consulate easily. It does reinforce the idea that valuables shouldn't be left in vehicles, but what could they do with just a motorhome to travel in?
Glass factory and glass bottomed boat tomorrow. Then lunch, then back to reality - laundry!
