Dave & Lynda's 2009 Travels travel blog

Hello, We left Birmingham close to 4PM. We weren't planning on driving far, but we wanted to get farther south before the cold front came through! We made reservations for Monday and Tuesday at a State Park on St George Island, Florida, and we are half way there.

We had a lovely Sunday with Peggy, Allen and kids. Peggy and I went to the Presbyterian Church for Scout Sunday. Trevor was leading part of the service. Poor Peggy was doing her Parenting duty being there, but she had been up all night with the youth group at their Churches overnighter. She told me to poke her if I heard her snoring! I remember those days! Thank goodness they are past! Dave stayed home with Ian and ther rest of the crew. He wanted to finish getting the dirt off the RV! It was so good to spend a little time chatting with Peggy. It seems we have to steal time when we are together to get to say a few words... but the effort is worth it! Allen is flying to Los Vegas in the morning, and the kids have a little homework... Peggy needs to sleep... so we decided it was a good time to leave.

Again Dave and Ian sat in the front talking about all they were seeing as we drove along. We stopped at a McDonalds after dark because they advertized a playland. I got a cup of coffee and an apple walnut salad so Ian could play in the playland. He was so happy. When he would come out of the slide he would have the biggest smile! I shopped tonight at Walmart for some bread, etc. while Dave and Ian watched a movie in bed... they were both asleep when I got back. So I guess I will sack out on the couch tonight and enjoy a good nights sleep! Hopefully I will have time to write more tomorrow.... Lynda
