AISA 6-8 months with children travel blog

Because we suddenly got the urge to go to Cambodia ahead of our schedule, we´ve had to revise our itnary slightly until we leave from Hanoi on March 26.

Right now we are sitting in a sleepers train towards Lampang in Thailand on our way to Chiang Rai. Once in Chiang Rai we will find a guesthouse wheere we will leave our luggage when we go trekking to some of the Hill tribes nearby.

On Feb 7 we leave Chiang Rai to go to Huax Yai in Laos. Hopefully, we will be able to join the "Gibbon-experience" - a retreat in the Northern Jungle of Laos with treehouses, cables on which we are to glide through the treetops, and we will hear the Gibbons fabled song.

Between Feb 10 and Feb 22 we will cruise down the Mekong river and the surrounding roads in Laos, first stop at Luang Prabang, then Vien Vang for tubing on the river and finally the capital of Laos, Vientianne.

Around Feb. 22 we return from Vientianne by train to Bangkok in order to catch a flight on Feb 24 to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. We will probably spend some time to seeing the underground world of the Viet Cong and soak up the general atmosphere of Vietnam.

From Ho Chi Minh we will enjoy app. 30 days of travel along the coast of Vietnam, stopping for 10 days of relaxation at a beach and maybe learn to dive. We end up in Hanoi, close to one of the 8th wonders of the world, Halong Bay and its dragon boats (there are many selfproclaimed 8 wonders around!). We leave Hanoi on March 26 for Bali.

In Bali we will spend 8 days with a Indonesian family. The other two weeks we will probably travel around getting the most out of the experience.

We are looking so much forward to the experience :-)
