Sunrise at the beach

I started on my great southwest adventure a day late due to problems with the battery in the RV. Here's what it looked like when I left.

Traveled south to Elizabethtown KY after successfully navigating thru Dayton and Cincinnati. Still cold but minimal snow there see photo of pond at campground there

The next day I went on a tour of Mammoth Cave very cool - see photos

The second night's campground in Jackson TN was not nice at all so decided to get up earlyish and head on down to Little Rock. This campground is part of the Corps of Engineers and is one the Maumelle river right where it joins the Arkansas River. My site faces the river and this campground is gorgeous. See photos of river right outside my back bedroom. Eddie really enjoyed sniffing along the banks

Here was last night's sunset - tonight it was starting to rain a little -

One more shot from earlier today for your viewing pleasure

I spent the day here doing some chores and walking with Eddie. Tomorrow morning I'll set out for Lake Bistineau LA where I plan to spend two nights before heading to TX on Monday.

Spent 2 nights in LA - kind of funny, they call the area ArkLaTex and the people who live there also. Couldn't get wifi signal there and cell phone was spotty. Water was very low and there was lots of that droopy spanish moss

The sites were neat too with large wooden decks

and nice fire rings

Next drove to Lumberton Tx to a state park there for one night. Small camp, but nice sites with neat built in benches around the fire rings

Finally arrived at the beach. Had to drive through Houston, though, which was, by far the scariest place I've ever driven in the rig even at 10:30 am on a Tuesday. Had to take a ferry to get to the beach.

First campground not too great and pretty expensive so only stayed one night. Took dog to state park to play while we were waiting for second campground to open up.

We saw several jellyfish on the beach and I found out today they were dead. I think they still look cool though -

You can drive right on the beach here and even camp. It's crazy. Here's me standing on my frriend's truck just a few feet from the water

Here's another view early this a.m.

Our God is truly an awesome God, isn't He? I've always thought oceans were (are) one of his best ideas. What do you think?
