A prehistoric creature/s

I was awoken by a fierce wind that I was sure was going to rip the awning of our van!!!

We later found out that there was a storm weather warning across the coast.

After ensuring everything that could be blown away was secure or in the van, we drove 100kms to Penola. The main reason for this drive was to visit the Mary MacKillop information centre and visit her first school room. Sean wanted to know the reason why this was so important....Liam informed him that she will be Australia's first saint..Duh!!!

We enjoyed and learnt alot about Mary MacKillop plus heard a beautiful song about her, sung by one of the ladies that take you on the tour through the school room.

We then drove another 10km to Naracoorte Caves a World Heritage Site. We were taken on a tour through the Alexandra Cave, where we saw a Fairy Castle which you only see when reflected in the pool of water below. Liam loved being in the caves and sadly we did not do the adventure caves as three of us are too young!!!We then explored the wet cave and the fossil cave. The latter had stuffed prehistoric Australian animals, one being a flat faced kangaroo and a huge goanna, six metres long bigger than a great white shark. Liam also acquired a baby tooth of a great granddaddy of the great white shark. He can't wait till news!!!

Then we did something I enjoy....visiting wineries!!! The first stop was to S. Kidman winery, owned by Des' brother. We met George, Des' nephew, and enjoyed our tastings ...and bought some to enjoy later!! Not wanting to push my luck, Sean is not into drinking wine, I decided to visit just one more winery, Wynns Coonawarra, the lady there Bronwyn gave the kids some colouring in so I could enjoy my reds!!! Again, I had to take some home with us!!!

We drove back with all asleep except for Rhiannon and myself(lucky I was driving!!!). We arrived back in Robe around 5.30pm to enjoy pizza and pasta at the Pizzeria. Sadly, Sara gave Sean her Monkey to look after at Wynns and he left it there!!! She was hysterical. What a bad DADDY!!!!

Hopefully it will meet us at Patrick and Ashley's.
