| Well after a nightmare in San Christobal I decided to head off Straight to Palya Del Carmen for some well earned RnR. The beaches here are really clear and strikingly blue. We stayed at the usual place on the beach although the prices have risen since I was last here so no beach front room this time. Since doing my PADI Advanced Diving in Krabi I have been dying to get back in the water, especially as Playa is just off Cozumel Island where Jacque Cousteau made a lot of documentries in the 70s. I decided on a two tank drift dive off of a reef and brought along my latest toy, the underwater camera. The water was clear, probably upto about 40 metres, however I can not say I was massively impressed with the sea life and the reef was too deep to get a full spectrum of colours so the flash on the camera came in handy. |
