Beauty at the Bar

We started the day with juice and fruit but soon made our way to Kathy's Waffles for a real breakfast. I had the traditional Nica breakfast which is eggs, fried plantains, fried salty cheese, and the ubiquitous gallo pinto, rice and beans. I think gallo pinto is delicious but Linda Rose tired of it last year and isn't too keen on seeing it served on every plate.

We went to ZOOM Bar for lunch and had bleu cheese burgers and mojitos. Then we took a taxi to the TicaBus office to buy tickets to Liberia, Costa Rica. They say the roads are clear and although there was an earthquake just a few days ago, there is no problem with travel. The bus company will shepherd us across the border and take care of paperwork and visas. We'll be in Costa Rica next Tuesday the 13th.

Tonight we had a special meal we've been waiting for at Casa Nuestra AKA Jimmy Three Fingers Alabama Barbecue. LindaRose had ribs and a filet and I had baby back ribs. We are never disappointed at this place.

We went to karaoke night at El Quijote and saw our friends the owners Kathy and Terri. Terri can really belt out a song and there was lots of audience participation. I include photos of some of the talent.
